Who is this course for?

The primary aim of this knowledge based Level 3 qualification is to enable practicing electricians, operating in the domestic environment, to gain an understanding of how electrical installations in dwellings must comply with all relevant Building Regulations.

It is suitable for those working in the building trades and others who require a working knowledge of how electrical installations in dwellings can affect the building construction.

Course description

The government approved document P (electrical safety) came into affect on the 1st January 2005. For the first time the mainstream work of domestic electrical installers became subject to the requirements and procedures associated with Buidling Control.

Domestic electrical installers need to appreciate the requirements that apply to building work they carry out in connection with their electrical work, and they need to uderstand the way that Building Control works and the procedures that need to be followed.

The primary aim of this knowledge based level 3 qualification (City & guilds 2393-10) is to enable practising electricians and registered domestic installers operating within the domestic environment, to gain an understanding of how electrical installation in dwellings must comply with all relevant Building Regulations.

This qualification does not deal with how to meet the technical electrical requirements when carrying out such work within England & Wales BS7671:2018. This would be covered in detail studying the City & Guilds 2382-18 Level 3 IET 18th Wiring Regulations Course in FULL.

It is suitable for those working in the building trades and others who require a working knowledge of how electrical installation in dwellings can affect the building construction.

To summarise, the aim of this course is to:-

Meet the needs of candidates who work in the Building Services Engineering sector such as Electricians, who need to be able to demonstrate knowledge of the Building Regulations for electrical installations in dwellings and associated areas in England and Wales.

Please note that this course is only suitable for those practicing their trade in England and wales due to there being different regulations in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
