Course description
The course is designed To prepare candidates for entry into the domestic electrical installation field. We have developed a range of practical electrical training exercises to provide the essential skills and knowledge of installation practices within our fully equipped electrical training workshops in Kingswood, Bristol.
1. IN(A) Identification of accessories
2. IN(B) Identification of cables (Visual)
3. IN(C) Identification of cables using a micrometer
4. IN(D) Cable terminations
5. IN(E) Connecting 13Amp Plug and a 100V BSEN60309-2 Industrial Plug
6. PP(A) One way switched lighting circuit via a junction box (PVC/PVC)
7. PP(B) Two way switched lighting circuit via a junction box (PVC/PVC)
8. PP(C) Two way and intermediate switched lighting circuit (PVC/PVC)
9. PP(D) Three lighting points with two 1 way switches 3 plate loop in wiring (PVC/PVC)
10. PP(E) Two way conversion of PP(C) 3 plate loop in wiring (PVC/PVC)
11. PP(F) 20 Amp radial power circuit (PVC/PVC)
12. PP(G) 30 Amp Ring Final Circuit (PVC/PVC)
13. SWA(1) SWA cable gland assembly
Assessment
This short practical course will provide the candidate with the practical skill set necessary to undertake domestic electrical installation work and provide a practical grounding for those wishing to consider a career as a 'Qualified Supervisor' within domestic electrical installation work. This course provides candidates with the practical insight required into the domestic electrical installation field.
PLEASE NOTE:- This practical course does not provide the unpinning theoretical knowledge required to gain accreditation alone and operate as a Part P registered domestic installer in the industry and further study will be required before you will be able to demonstrate the published competencies required to the assessed through the selected CPS operator's assessment process, (NICEIC, ELECSA or NAPIT etc). We provide a progression course covering these competencies in the IET Wiring Regulations to BS7671:2018, fundamental and initial verification of single phase LV systems and Part P Building Regulations through a 12 Day (09.00 - 17.00) Monday/Tuesday programme of study here:- Domestic Electrical Part P Course

Comprehensive learner materials will be provided together with all PPE and workshop materials and tools etc.
