This course has been designed to provide candidates with a progression route from our City & Guilds 2365 Level 2.It's designed to support those that want to progress on to meeting the requirements but don't currently have a job within the trade and can't ( or don't wish) to follow the apprenticeship route in an FE funded College environment. We continue to support adult learners in Bristol on a 'Daytime basis ' 09.00 - 16.00 currently scheduled on Monday's and will open further options depending on demand.
Course description
This Level 3 Diploma City & Guilds qualification is well respected as an excellent progression route for anyone new to the industry wishing to pursue a career in Electrical Installation and ultimately become a registered Electrician with the Joint Industry Board after further study and experience defined below. This course blends the theory with lab works and all the practical aspects within our fully functional workshop and inspection/Test bays.Assessment

302 Principles of Elecrical Science
303 Electrical Installations: Fault Diagnosis and Rectification
304 Electrical Insatllations: Inspection, Testing and Commissioning
305 Electrical Systems Design
308 Career Awareness in Building Services Engineering
Materials Required
Comprehensive learning materials will be provided along with electrical test equipment and instruments etc.
Tools & Materials for practical tasks.
Entry Requirements
All candidates are required to hold City & Guilds 2365-02 (or the EAL Awards alternative) to enroll.Due to the mode of attendance and fast track nature of the programme, it's essential that all candidates are fully motivated and engaged for the journey and committed.
Progression
To become fully qualified you will need to gain employment within the industry as the City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Technology 2357- 13/91 assessing all the practical performance criteria required.By enrolling on the Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations (Buildings and Structures) (2365-03) this qualification tests both practical and knowledge based skills in a realistic working environment. When you have successfully completed this qualification you will be at an Improver/Electrician’s Mate level. In order to fully qualify as an Electrician you will need to fully meet the performance criteria as laid down in the National Occupational Standards put together by Summit Skills, the Sector Skills Council. This is covered in the City and Guilds 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Technology stated above.
We will explain how you may progress onto the City and Guilds 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Technology. However, you should be aware that the relevant performance units will need to be carried out in industry. Completion of the 2357 and the associated NET AM2 will enable you to apply to join an industry graded or competent person’s scheme. We will confirm that as part of the induction process and that the above statement has been explained and fully understood that completing the City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations (Buildings and Structures) (2365-03) qualification will not make the candidate a fully qualified Electrician!
