Who is this course for?

Practising electricians with previous electrical qualifications and underpinning knowledge who are NOT planning higher level courses in the future.

Course description

The course is designed to provide candidates with an  understanding of the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations BS7671:2008.  City & Guilds recommended guided learning hours have NOT been followed as this course has been designed to enable candidates with previous electrical qualifications and experience a fast track route to certification.  It is NOT recommended for candidates who plan higher level study with us such as City & Guilds 2391-10 Inspection & Testing or City & Guilds 2391-20 Design & Verification courses.

It is suitable for practising electricians and anyone involved in design, supervision or electrical specifications.  The course is split into 'outcomes' as follows:-

 

  1. Scope, object and fundamental principles
  2. Definitions
  3. Assessment of general characteristics
  4. Protection for safety
  5. Selection and erection of equipment
  6. Inspection and testing
  7. Special installations or locations
  8. Appendices

 

Assessment

A two hour online examination is required to complete the programme.  A copy of BS7671:2008 is permitted reference material during the assessment.

Morris Services Ltd will provide all candidates with a copy of the NICEIC Learner Guide and course materials.  Please ensure that you have obtained a copy of BS7671:2008 prior to starting your course.  This publication can be ordered from the IET website, amazon, bookshops or electrical wholesalers locally.

Candidates are required to have prior electrical qualifications, such as:- City & Guilds 2360 City & Guilds 2351/2330, A & B Certs etc NVQL3, AM1 & 2 etc + Onsite experience
